Course
The general education curriculum embodies Required General Courses and Selective Diverse General Courses:
一、Required General Courses are basis of lifelong learning. These are required courses which divided as follows:
1.Language education Chinese and English: to cultivate students’ basic language abilities. |

2.Physical education (interest-oriented) It is to promote students' interest in physical education, to develop lifelong exercise habits, to push ahead with physical and mental health. |

3.General Education Passport |
||
(1) Lecture of general education Students have to participate in general education lectures at least 3 times in each semester. |
||
(2) Selective readings of general education To read at least 2 books from recommendatory booklist each semester. |
||
(3) Visit to artistic and cultural activities. Pay at least 3 visits to artistic and cultural activities on / off campus each semester. |
||
(4) Social concern To engage in cultural internships or community services at least 2 times each semester. Each time has to be at least 2 hours. |
二、Selective Diverse General Courses emphasize curriculum integration and promotion. It is to merge humanity and technology in
order to promote the connotation of liberal arts.

1.Field of Art and Humanity: |
|
(1) Self construction: to conduct students to understand and develop ego concept. |
|
(2) Life meaning: to conduct students to explore the meaning of enlightenment and existence of life. |
|
(3) Philosophic thinking: to cultivate students’ independent thinking, reasoning ability, and appropriate value. |
|
(4) Artistic connotation: to promote students’ artistic literacy of appreciation, listening, and reading. |
|
(5) Exploration in human culture: to conduct students to understand the origin and development of human culture. |

(6)Historical understanding and thinking: to promote students to think |
|
(7) Taiwan history and culture: to conduct student to know development of Taiwan cultures, and discuss the situation and future of Taiwan. |

(8) Multicultural perspective: to cultivate students to appreciate different ethnic cultures, to establish students'perspective of open-minded and diversities on cultures. |

2.Field of Social Science: |
|
(1) Humane concern: A: To carry out the spirit of human-oriented. B: To show the concern of human beings and communities from different perspective. |

(2) Citizen social literacy: To shape the member’s basic literacy of civil society. |
|
(3) Democracy and ethics: To cultivate student’s understanding of democracy and ethics. |
|
(4 ) Living ability and meaning: To learn to adjust himself /herself to pressure and abilities of information collection for creating ideal lives. |

(5) Interpersonal intelligence: To cultivate students to learn fine interpersonal relationship and communication skills for broadening interpersonal relationship. |

(6) Cosmopolitan vision: To cultivate tolerant viewpoint for broadening vision |

(7) Integration of departments: To encourage students to have interdisciplinary studies. |

C.Field of Technology and Living |
|
(1) Student-oriented: The course plan is based on students' need and student-oriented. It can facilitate students to understand themselves, to understand other people, to understand |

(2) Fundamental: The course content includes essential elements of the human civilization. To compare with technical and recreational courses, general education courses should embody foundation. This foundation means the most fundamental, most important and most indispensable elements of human being. |

(3) Application-oriented: The course content enables students to be capable of applying theoretical knowledge to solve real life problems. It also enables students to have opportunities to develop their own interest from a variety of angles. |

(4) Integrative: The course content integrates different angles, fields or knowledge in order to inspire students’ mind, make students have opportunities to search information actively, and turn them into meaningful knowledge. |

(5) Universal: The course content includes comprehensive knowledge instead of a particular group or culture. It facilitates students to have broad vision and cope with problems. |
